Worth knowingAutomatic safety net: without nm_id, NEMO attributes by the buyer's email if they're already one of your leads (N2); and failing that too, the sale counts “no source” — it is never lost.

With Gumroad, NEMO tracks which link brings each sale with no pixels and no Google Analytics. Know which link, video or ad brought you each Gumroad sale — server to server, with the source travelling in the product URL. Gumroad's Ping notifies NEMO of every sale. The source travels as a parameter of the product URL (?nm_id=…) — with the NEMO script on your page, it's set automatically. The method is “Direct notice from the platform” (server-side · highest reliability): The platform itself notifies NEMO of every sale — and every refund — with a direct server-to-server message (no dependence on anyone's browser). Stripe, Hotmart, ThriveCart, SamCart, Gumroad and Lemon Squeezy ship with it (native connection); the “Sales webhook” opens it to any tool that can send a POST. Automatic safety net: without nm_id, NEMO attributes by the buyer's email if they're already one of your leads (N2); and failing that too, the sale counts “no source” — it is never lost. The full connection is 5 steps and you verify it with a single test click.

How is each Gumroad sale attributed?

Direct notice from the platform · Server-side · highest reliability

Gumroad's Ping notifies NEMO of every sale. The source travels as a parameter of the product URL (?nm_id=…) — with the NEMO script on your page, it's set automatically.

  1. Click “Connect” on the Gumroad card: NEMO gives you YOUR Ping URL.
  2. In Gumroad: Settings → Advanced → paste the URL into “Ping endpoint” and save. Open Settings → Advanced in Gumroad
  3. On that same screen you'll see “your seller_id is …”: paste it into step 2 of the wizard (NEMO uses it to verify every notice is really yours).
  4. Want REFUNDS to subtract themselves too? On the same screen create an application and click “Generate access token”; paste it into the optional field — NEMO registers the refund notice for you.
  5. Paste the NEMO script on your sales page: links to your Gumroad products go out with the source attached (?nm_id), on their own:
    <script src="https://nemolink.app/nemo.js" defer></script>

Note: Automatic safety net: without nm_id, NEMO attributes by the buyer's email if they're already one of your leads (N2); and failing that too, the sale counts “no source” — it is never lost.

Note: Gumroad's refund notice doesn't include the amount: in NEMO every refund counts as a TOTAL refund of that sale.

Note: With gifts, the notice arrives with the email of whoever RECEIVES the gift: email attribution may not match whoever clicked.

Check it in one minute

  1. In Settings → Advanced, click “Send test ping to URL” (you need at least one previous sale on your account).
  2. The Gumroad card in NEMO switches to “last notice a moment ago” — the test does NOT count in your metrics, on purpose.

Frequently asked questions

What do I do if the test ping fails in Gumroad?
Gumroad re-sends your LAST real sale as the test: if the account has no sales yet, the button has nothing to send. It will light up with your first real sale anyway.
What do I do if notices arrive with a 401 error?
The seller_id stored in NEMO doesn't match your account's: copy it exactly as shown in Settings → Advanced (“your seller_id is …”).
What do I do if sales arrive “no source”?
The buyer opened your product without the parameter (a bare direct link). Share your NEMO link to your page with the script — or a NEMO link whose destination is the product itself (the nm_id travels either way).
