How to track leads and sales from Kit
Every subscriber arrives with their source video — native connection.
AT A GLANCE
| What NEMO tracks | Leads · Sales |
|---|---|
| Connection | Native — activated from the NEMO app |
| Method | “The hidden form field” · Server-side · highest reliability |
| Steps | 6 in total, with a one-minute check at the end |
| Worth knowing | The order of preference (from most to least certainty): on YOUR sites, the NEMO script filling the hidden field is ALWAYS best — it reads the exact source of the click. Leave it in place. |
With Kit, NEMO tracks which link brings each lead and which link brings each sale with no pixels and no Google Analytics. Know which link or video brought you each Kit subscriber — and every sale you tag. Native connection: NEMO sets itself up. When you connect Kit (the Connect button on its card), NEMO creates the field and the new-subscriber notice for you. All that's left is making sure your form carries the source. The method is “The hidden form field” (server-side · highest reliability): Your form carries an invisible field (nemo_click_id) that travels with every signup to your email platform. NEMO receives it server to server: the lead arrives already attributed to its source link. The order of preference (from most to least certainty): on YOUR sites, the NEMO script filling the hidden field is ALWAYS best — it reads the exact source of the click. Leave it in place. The full connection is 6 steps and you verify it with a single test click.
How does each Kit lead arrive with its source?
The hidden form field · Server-side · highest reliability
When you connect Kit (the Connect button on its card), NEMO creates the field and the new-subscriber notice for you. All that's left is making sure your form carries the source.
- Connect Kit from its card in the catalog: paste your API Key (v4 section of Settings → Developer) and NEMO does the rest. Open Developer Settings in Kit
- If your Kit form is embedded on YOUR site: paste the NEMO script once and the hidden field fills itself in:
<script src="https://nemolink.app/nemo.js" defer></script> - If you use a landing page HOSTED on Kit (youraccount.kit.com): our script can't run there, so you don't have to touch the form — NEMO recovers the source from Kit's own attribution. It's automatic (read the note below). Open your forms in Kit
Note: The order of preference (from most to least certainty): on YOUR sites, the NEMO script filling the hidden field is ALWAYS best — it reads the exact source of the click. Leave it in place.
Note: The safety NET, only for landing pages hosted ON Kit: NEMO reads the source from the attribution Kit stores for the subscriber. It works without you doing anything — but with less certainty (Kit stores the FIRST touch), so on your own sites the script + hidden field remains the main route, not an extra you can remove.
How is each Kit sale attributed?
The purchase tag · Tag-based · high reliability
The purchase tag: when someone buys, they get tagged in Kit — NEMO sees the tag and counts the sale attributed to their source link.
- Create the tag in Kit: Subscribers → “All Tags” → + (e.g. “buyer”). Open Subscribers in Kit
- Make the purchase tag on its own: a Visual Automation with the “purchases a product” entry (Kit Commerce/Stripe) → “Add Tag”. Closing by phone call or bank transfer? Tag by hand when you charge — it counts the same. Open Automations in Kit
- In NEMO, scroll down to “Conversion attribution” → “I also want to count sales” and save the exact name of that tag.
Check it in one minute
- On the Kit card, click “Send test”: it runs the entire real circuit (signup → notice → attributed lead).
- Within seconds you'll see the lead on Home and the SUBSCRIPTIONS stage in green.
Frequently asked questions
- What do I do if the key doesn't validate when connecting?
- Copy the API Key from the v4 section (Settings → Developer), not the old v3 key — they look alike and are not interchangeable.
- What do I do if leads arrive showing “no source”?
- The hidden field isn't coming through: is the script on your site (embedded forms), or the nemo_click_id field in the form (Kit landing pages)? The “Conversion attribution” traffic light points it out.
- What do I do if sales aren't being counted?
- The tag name in Kit and the one saved in NEMO must match (watch for spaces). And the automation must be Active.
